Joe Rose Extends Contract

Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM is pleased to announce that Morning Host Joe Rose has signed a three-year extension on his contract with the Beasley Broadcast South Florida radio station. The Joe Rose Show airs weekday mornings from 6:00 – 10:00 am.  In addition to The Big Dog Joe Rose, WQAM’s stellar local weekday lineup includes the recent additions of Dan Sileo (10:00 am– 1:00 pm), Kup & Crowder (1:00 – 3:00 pm) and Jorge Sedano (3:00 – 7:00 pm).  Sports Radio 560 is proud to serve as the flagship radio station for Miami Hurricanes Sports and Florida Panthers Hockey.

Joe Rose is a former American football tight end who played six seasons with the Miami Dolphins from 1980 – 1985.  Rose became a radio host after retiring from football, joining the Sports Radio 560 WQAM morning show in 1992. In addition to his WQAM on-air presence, Rose is both the color commentator for the Miami Dolphins radio broadcast and also sports anchor for South Florida’s NBC Channel 6.

Vice President and Market Manager Joe Bell comments, “Joe Rose is the gold standard for athletes who become broadcasters.  He had a 7 year NFL career, but as good as he was, his broadcast career has eclipsed what he accomplished in the NFL.  Joe is an easy listen…he’s the guy next door that you can talk sports with over the backyard fence.  He has become the face of WQAM and we’re proud and excited to have him on board through 2015.”

Adds Joe Rose, “WQAM has been my broadcast home for over 20 years and I’m happy that I’ll be staying home for at least 3 more!”
