Larkin: We're a National Championship Team

Shane Larkin, Miami's blur of a point guard, joined Jorge Sedano on WQAM on Tuesday afternoon. He talked LeBron James, Coach L, and more. Here we're a few of the highlights:

On LeBron's euthanizing dunk over Jason Terry on Monday night:

That was crazy. I don't see why anybody in the nba would jump when lebron is coming into the lane and Jason Terry had a lot of guts doing that. He definitely was put on a poster.

How coach Larranaga fires the team up:

He just says real meaningful stuff that gives you a good feeling about yourself and about the team. I remember one game we were at NC State, and we were down I think ten with five minutes or six minutes to go. And he just sat us down, he had a smile on this face and said: "Don't you love this atmosphere?" and we were all like "Yeah its fun" and he said "I love you guys so much". I think when he said that it gave us a good feeling like he still believes in us... After we did that, we came back and won the game on a buzzer beater tip-in by Reggie.

The thought process after losing to Duke at Cameron:

...We had two shots to tie it at the end of the game and It took 36 points and a herculean effort from Ryan Kelly to beat us in their arena. It wasn't fun losing the game but we definitely left there with a lot of confidence knowing that we can play with any team in the country, especially if we can play with Duke at Cameron.

If Miami is the best team in the nation:

I would like to believe so. We have everything you need to be a great team. We have great guard play, great big play, a great coaching staff. They always have the right game plan and we really focus in on the defensive end. I think we have everything you need to be a National Championship team, we just have to go out there and play with a lot of intensity and focus.
