Miami rolls to 40-9 win over USF

Miami recorded a 40-9 win over USF Saturday at Sun Life Stadium, sending a senior class out on a high note during the regular-season home finale.

Here's a look at how the Hurricanes dominated the contest:
 
Miami 40, USF 9 (2:01, fourth quarter): Maikon Bonani booted a 33-yard field goal, providing the Bulls with a few more points before officially collecting the loss.
 
Miami 40, USF 6 (6:46, fourth quarter): Jake Wieclaw connected on a 33-yard field goal to pad an already considerable Hurricanes lead.
 
Miami 37, USF 6 (10:02, fourth quarter): Maikon Bonani connected on a 25-yard field goal, give the Bulls three more points. It did little to trim the Hurricanes' considerable advantage.
 
Miami 37, USF 3 (11:09 fourth quarter): Tight end Clive Walford helped pile it on with a 65-yard touchdown on a broken play. The tight end was wide open deep in the Bull defense after Stephen Morris scrambled all over the pocket.
 
Miami 30, USF 3 (7:31 third quarter): Freshman Herb Waters caught an 87-yard touchdown on the first play of Miami's possession as this is getting out of hand. Phillip Dorsett added a two-point conversion.
 
Quarterback Stephen Morris is 17-for-26 for 330 yards and two touchdowns.
 
Miami 22, USF 3 (11:06 third quarter): Duke Johnson made up for his second-quarter fumble with an eight-yard touchdown run on the opening possession of the third quarter. Miami went nine plays and 76 yards while converting two third downs.
 
Miami 16: USF 3 (halftime): The Bulls ended the shutout with a 23-yard field goal on the final play of the half. USF had its best drive of the game after Duke Johnson fumbled out of the end zone for a touchback.
 
The Hurricanes appeared to take a 22-0 lead, but Phillip Dorsett's touchdown was ruled down at the 1-yard line. Two plays later, Johnson fumbled for the first time in his Miami career.
 
Miami is out-gaining the Bulls 228-195 while the committing two turnovers and muffing a punt.

Miami 16, USF 0 (9:24 second quarter): The first touchdown of the game came one play after USF's QB trouble caught up with the Bulls. Third-string passer Matt Floyd was intercepted by Jimmy Gaines on the first play of the possession following a field goal.
 
Kendal Thompkins scored his second career touchdown on the next play, a 15-yard pass from Stephen Morris.
 
Miami 9, USF 0 (9:43 second quarter): The special teams fiesta continues. Jake Wieclaw added a 37-yard field goal after another successful trick play. A flea flicker found Clive Walford wide open for a 36-yard gain. The drive stalled after that and the Hurricanes settled for a 9-0 lead.
 
The Bulls are down to their third quarterback after Bobby Eveld was knocked out by Denzel Perryman in the third drive. Matt Floyd is now in there for USF, who went three and out in the last two possessions.
 
Miami 6, USF 0 (14:22 second quarter): The Hurricanes added a 22-yard Jake Wieclaw field goal after an 11-play drive. Miami converted a third down when Phillip Dorsett was interfered with on a deep pass.
